Meet Dustin

Dustin grew up in Okotoks attending Good Shepherd School and Holy Trinity Academy. Before graduating, he worked at many local businesses as well as served as a mentor and supervisor for the Okotoks Referee Association. 

Dustin graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, also serving President of the University of Lethbridge Students’ Union. 

As President, he worked to make the General Assembly more inclusive by adding a designated seat for a First Nations student, took major steps to increase student engagement in politics at all levels, and secured significant funding to increase the quality of student on-campus life, working collaboratively with senior university officials. Dustin also served as Campaign Manager for the 2011 Federal Liberal campaign in Lethbridge.

Dustin has experience working for Elections Canada as a Community Relations Officer and District Returning Officer, also served as a board member to MLAs Bridget Pastoor and Kent Hehr, the Macleod Liberal Electoral District Association, Fair Vote Canada, United Way, and the Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs.

The son of an oilfield Account Manager and office administrator, Dustin has recently come full-circle taking a position at Husky Energy. In his role he is heading the implementation of a new software program and business process, helping Husky lead the way among Canada’s largest energy companies.
